Trafford Housing Trust recognises the strengths and benefits that people from all racial backgrounds bring to the Trust.

We are committed to place this at the heart of all that we do.

We are committed to ensuring that we do all we can to tackle racial inequality and disadvantage wherever it exists.

We take our responsibility for race equality seriously and we want to be responsive to the needs of our diverse communities.

This charter of commitment sets out in clear terms how we, the Trust, will act and sets the organisational tone and approach to treating matters of race equality as a priority for the organisation.

As such we will:

• Place race equality issues at the heart of all that we do
• Respect individuals and communities and recognise the strength that flows from embracing race equality
• Be an inclusive organisation that is respectful of all racial groups and ensure the Trust is a welcoming place for all
• Take positive action to ensure we achieve equality of access and opportunity for all
• Take positive action to ensure the Trust is representative of the community it serves
• Develop innovative and culturally sensitive methods of consultation and communication
• Develop an understanding of the organisation’s commitment on race equality to ensure individual actions support the commitment of the Trust
