Older People's Services

As there are growing numbers of older people - those over 60 - within the population, both Central and Local Government have made these services a high priority.
We focus on partnership working to deliver integrated services that promote independence, choice and control, wellbeing and inclusion. We own a large number of designated elderly properties including over 1,000 sheltered units and around 1,740, Category 1, mobile response homes, so for us working to the shared agenda is a key a priority.
Prior to our transfer from the Council, our sheltered and mobile response services were assessed by the supporting people team at Trafford MBC. This review combined with the results of a corporate health check and an analysis of the requirements of the KLOE for Supported Housing has highlighted areas for improvement. We’re making great strides in this area and we aim to develop fit for purpose services by the end of March 2007.
