Your Estate
Caretaking
Trafford Housing Trust’s Caretaking Service is being developed to work alongside the Area Housing Offices. Together they will deliver local services that will improve the area where you live and the surrounding environment.
The environment contributes to your quality of life. If we can work together to take care of your area where you live you will have more pride in it and it will become a place where you will feel happy to spend time and where your children can play in a safe, clean environment. Trafford Housing Trust recognises the importance of helping you to look after your estate and we will do our part in the following ways:
Tower Blocks
We have dedicated caretakers who look after these blocks. They are responsible for the following tasks:
- Cleaning all communal areas
- Keeping common external areas in good condition and clear of rubbish
- Repairing or reporting communal repairs in blocks and monitoring the request to see it to completion
Low Rise Flats
The Caretaking Services do a weekly visit to all low rise blocks of flats to:
- Clean the communal areas
- Litter pick
- Report any repairs
Priority Estates
Trafford Housing Trust has dedicated estate caretakers on three estates; Broomwood, Sale Moor and Lostock. In these areas the estate caretaker is a familiar face in the community. If you identify a problem please report it to the caretaker. They will:
- Keep the area you live in clean
- Keep the communal areas to a good standard of cleanliness
- Report repairs for you
- Identify and monitor empty dwellings
- Work in conjunction with the area housing office, police and other partners to combat crime and nuisance
