Community Budget
The Trust has a Community Panel in each of its five areas (Sale,
Altrincham, Old Trafford, Stretford and Urmston).The Panels are
made up of local tenant representatives and other interested
residents.
The Community Budget is a pot of money, allocated to the Community
Panels and made available for schemes to help the local
environment, security, health and wellbeing and new initiatives, in
and around your area. There is over £120,000 in the pot for
each area for a 12 month period and schemes run from 1st April to
March month end.
Individual residents, Trafford Housing Trust staff, police,
councillors, tenants
and residents associations can make applications for any of these
works.
Typical work considered includes:
- Improving security
- Youth initiatives
- Improve the look and environment of your estates
- Clean up projects
- Community cohesion
Examples of recent work carried out include:
- Contributed to Sale Moor Partnership to run Youth Environment Schemes, Sale Moor.
- Landscaping Community Garden at Milton Close, Stretford.
- Clean up days on the Rivers Estate,Old Trafford.
- Fencing at Calder Court, Urmston.
- Landscaping Community Garden at Millom
Court,Altrincham.
Submissions
Schemes to be considered are submitted to the Neighbourhood Housing
Office at any time and are presented to members of the Community
Panel for final approval in April. The Community Panel has the
responsibility of allocating the money.
