A Housing Association is a non-profit making organisation, which provides and manages homes for rent. An Association may be a charity or a registered industrial and provident society, or both. Some obtain funding from private sources such as banks, building societies and charitable trusts, but the majority provide housing with public money either from the Housing Corporation or Local Authority.
