Bloomin’ Outstanding
Trafford Housing Trust Neighbourhoods win bunch of awards at North West in Bloom

On Thursday 18th October a group of Trafford Housing Trust
residents travelled to Manchester Town Hall for the 2007 North West
in Bloom Neighbourhood Awards, hosted this year by Manchester City
Council in the Town Hall’s Great Hall.
The Neighbourhood Awards are designed to get communities working
together to improve the look of their respective neighbourhoods.
The North West in Bloom Neighbourhood awards are part of the
Department for Communities and Local Government’s Cleaner,
Safer, Greener Communities Campaign.
Since the North West in Bloom Neighbourhood Awards started the
number of entries has gone from 14 entries in 2005 to over 120 and
this year a separate awards day took place specifically for
neighbourhoods.
Matthew Gardiner, Trafford Housing Trust’s Chief Executive,
said:”Neighbourhoods are at the heart of what we do, so we
were very pleased at the number of our neighbourhoods who entered
and scooped awards.
“In creating and preparing entries our residents and staff
have excelled themselves and cultivated an increased sense of
community on the Trust’s estates.”
