The gala dinner and awards ceremony took place at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground on Thursday 23rd May. The annual event promotes and celebrates innovative, affordable housing providers, projects and services in the North that are helping to create great communities where people love to live.
We are proud to be part of the Greater Manchester Homes Partnership, and it's a fantastic honour to be involved and win the award for all our efforts in tackling homelessness in Greater Manchester.
We have been at the forefront of the initiative since its launch in November 2017. Working with One Manchester and Bridges Fund Management, Trafford Housing Trust launched and funded the partnership. Twenty participants have also now moved into THT homes.
The Greater Manchester Homes Partnership also works with three charitable organisations who are tackling homelessness and provide 1-to-1 keyworker support for all participants involved; Shelter, Great Places and The Brick. They have decades of experience in working with homelessness and provide invaluable support to GMHP.
Along with Trafford Housing Trust and One Manchester, the Greater Manchester Homes Partnership is also supported by over 20 Housing Providers across Greater Manchester, who between them have provided homes for over 300 participants to date.
The latest award comes after GMHP was 'Highly Commended' for 'Homelessness Project of the Year' at the UK Housing Awards 2019.
Awards and recognition reiterate that by working in partnership with each other, we can achieve our common goal; to prevent and relieve homelessness in Greater Manchester.
The award was collected by James Barret (Shelter Engagement Worker), Sarah Cooke (GM Homes Project Manager), Victoria Busby (Great Places Service Manager) and Keely Dalfen (The Brick - Finance and Communications Manager).
