From pendant alarms and falls detectors, to GPS monitors, we have a range of personalised solutions to support people in their own home.

Whether someone is at risk of falling, or has an ongoing health condition such as epilepsy or dementia, a simple assessment and is all it takes to get the right support.

Where family and carers are involved we’ll look at the best solution for everyone, which may be to enable people to step back from their role as carers or to be directly involved in responses.

As well as TrustCall, we’ll talk to you about other support we think may help, such as equipment and adaptations to help around the home, or our homecare service - TrustCare. We’ll also talk to you about any funding you may be eligible for such as Personal Care Budgets or Carer’s Allowance.

How TrustCall works

TrustCall is a Telecare service - this is sometimes called assistive technology.

Pendant alarms (usually worn about the person) or sensors around the home alert our control room when there is a problem. This could be someone pressing their alarm after a fall, a sensor detecting a significant change in temperature or, a smoke alarm activation. It could be that someone with dementia has wandered from their home and may be at risk.

Once an alert is received at our control room, officers assess the situation and arrange the appropriate response. This could be a call to a family member or a named carer, or an immediate visit to the home from our mobile response team to check a person’s wellbeing or to assist them to get up after a fall. It could also be to alert the emergency services. Entry to the home is usually made using keys stored in a Police approved keysafe that we provide.

As well as receiving ongoing training, support and development, all our response staff undergo background checks to ensure their suitability to support people in their homes.
