Getting Involved…

If you are a resident within one of the tower blocks and you would like to display information in the notice boards, please contact you neighbourhood partner Steve Birrs at steve.birrs@traffordhousingtrust.co.uk

Trafford Housing Trust is planning to introduce 'block reps'. The idea is Block Reps will be the link between the Trust and residents to ensure that any information provided is relevant and up to date and also give feedback to us. Being involved will also offer opportunities for people that would like to receive some training and learn new skills. You need not live in a tower block to be part of this group.

This opportunity would be perfect for somebody who has a few hours a month free and is able to express the concerns of their neighbours as well as their own. Full training will be provided on supporting neighbours, supporting vulnerable tenants, how to manage queries and health and safety. This is something really positive to add to your cv, good experience will be gained and is also a chance to get out and meet more people within your community.

The short term objectives for Block Reps is to play a key role in ensuring that the communication surrounding the Masterplan is relevant to tenants. The long term aim is for the Reps to be involved in helping to create a better community, bringing people together, running small projects and being involved in the overall design of our estates.

If you would like to be involved in this exciting opportunity we are still looking for people to volunteer. No previous experience or knowledge is required. The only thing we would ask is that you are committed to making your community a better place to live, are willing to consider other residents views and ideas and can commit to approximately 6 hours per month. These hours can be decided by each individual and can be very flexible.

For more information or to register an interest in this opportunity please contact Corinna Dale on 0300 777 7777 or corinna.dale@traffordhousingtrust.co.uk
