Trafford Housing Trust has spent over £137million on improvement
works to tenant's homes between 2005 - 2010. Completed work
since transfer in 2005, includes:
- Installing kitchens and bathrooms to 5,140 homes
- Rewiring 4,899 homes
- Installing over 5,404 new heating systems
- Installing double glazing to over 3,800 homes
To carry out this work we use the skills of various contactors
such as Casey's, Wates Living Space, and our procurement
partner - Procure Plus.
By 2010 all of our homes must meet the Government's Decent Homes
Standard. A Trafford Standard Home would:
- Be structurally sound and free from damp
- Have doors and windows that are safe and provide good
security
- Have modern heating systems and are energy efficient
- Have a modern bathroom (e.g. less than 20 years old)
- Have modern electrical standards (e.g. less than 25 years
old)
- Be in a good environment
- Have secure and clean communal areas
- Have modern standards of home safety (e.g. security window
locks)
- Not be potentially dangerous to the health and safety of
occupiers
