Matt Colledge

  • Matthew Colledge, a Trafford resident almost all of his life, studied Business Management in Bristol before setting up home in Timperley where he now lives with his wife Kathryn and two young children.

 

  • In 2009 he took up the post of Conservative Leader of Trafford Council, and in doing so became the youngest Leader in Trafford's history. Previously he was Chairman of the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority, leading the Authority at a particularly contentious time when Greater Manchester was debating the proposed Congestion Charging scheme.

 

  • Matthew represents Trafford on the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) Executive Board, is a member of the Commission for the New Economy, working on economic development across the Manchester sub-region, as well as taking a key role on Trafford's Strategic Partnership Board.

 

  • Matthew represents the area where he lives, Timperley Ward, and has done so since his election to Trafford Council in 2004. Prior to becoming Leader Matthew ran his own business within the Trafford area.

 

  • Outside of Council Matthew likes to cook, read, take long walks and spend time with his young family.
