Trafford residents growing for gold

25 August 2016

With the fantastic success of Team GB in the Rio Olympics, still fresh in our minds,  some Trafford residents have garnered a few top awards of their own in the THT Annual Neighbourhood Services Gardening Competition.

The competition is a way to celebrate the residents olympic efforts to work hard with their neighbours to maintain their green spaces and make their neighbourhoods more colourful and pleasant places to live. Gardening has a huge impact on health and wellbeing, not just for those who are gardening, but those people unable to garden but able to enjoy the view.

The gardens were judged on 23rd and 24th June by our Neighbourhood Services Supervisors and other Trust staff.  All entries were fantastic and the judges’ comments spoke volumes for the effort that has gone in. There were 6 categories for winners as follows:

Community Initiative Award- Chapel Walks- Patricia Morgan
