Temporary Accommodation residents and
staff entered into the "Halloween Spirit" again this year for the
annual Halloween party.
Earlier in the week Trudie Baxendale ran
an arts and crafts session for the children and they created
Halloween related masks and pictures which were entered into a
competition, judged on the night.
Housing Options staff Emily Hodgson,
Jacqui Ratcliffe and Wendi Dalzell joined Brenda Edghill, Carolyn
Murphy, Rachel Cross and Trudie Baxendale for an informal morning
of fun to transform the conservatory into a witch's coven in
preparation for the event.
The party was well attended and it was
great to see some ex-residents return and get into the spirit of
things. Many thanks to all staff involved and to Maggie Sharp and
her daughter Coleen who did a fantastic job helping to organise
party games for the children.
On Bonfire Night the theme was Guy
Fawkes meets the Wizard of Oz and the "Stretford White Watch Team"
including Tom, Lee, Martin, Gary and Wayne from Greater Manchester
Fire Service were on hand to keep a watchful eye on Guy Fawkes to
ensure he could not complete his gunpowder plot to blow up
Nansen!!
The Fire Officers came along and
explained the danger of fireworks and bonfires and as a special
treat the children were allowed to explore the fire engine both
inside and out. They were able to wear fire helmets and took turns
to use the hose and flashing lights which they all thoroughly
enjoyed.
Thanks again to all involved including
ex-resident Saira Parmar who was "Guy Fawkes" and "Tin Man"
Toni Scandella from Surestart and the
White Watch Team for making it such a memorable event for
everyone.
