Trafford Housing Trust’s Homeless Advice Team Receives Quality Mark
29 June 2010
Trafford Housing Trust's Housing Options department has received
a coveted Quality Mark for the services it provides in homeless
advice and guidance.
Housing Options was given the 'green light' from Community Legal
Services, a free and confidential legal advice service for
residents in England and Wales, offering help on issues including
housing, benefits, employment, education, tax, police and
crime.
The organisation carried out a thorough audit of Trafford
Housing Trust's Housing Options service to ensure its advice,
systems and training are effective and up to date.
The audit scrutinised Housing Options':
- Strategy documents
- Equality opportunities policy
- Signposting and referral procedure
- Decision making structure
- Recruitment and induction processes
- Procedures for providing timely information about changes in
law
- File review and conflict of interest procedures
The award means the Trust's Housing Options will receive a
certificate from Community Legal Services, will be able to feature
its 'Quality Mark' logo on correspondence and literature and is set
to appear on Community Legal Services' online directory at:
www.communitylegaladvice.org.uk
Matthew Gardiner, Chief Executive at Trafford Housing Trust,
said: "This endorsement from Community Legal Services reflects

guidance offered by our employees is first rate."
