Affordable buying options
We have a range of new homes across Trafford and the North West through Laurus Homes and OpenRent.
Laurus is a profit-for-purpose housing developer that is part of Trafford Housing Trust. Our Shared Ownership and Help to Buy properties are advertised through the Laurus Homes website.
OpenRent is an advertising platform for private landlords. Our Rent to buy properties are advertised through the OpenRent website.
Shared Ownership is a Government-backed scheme open to first and second-time buyers.
The scheme is a great way to get on to the property ladder with a high-quality new build home. It allows you to buy between 25% and 75% of the home outright. You then pay monthly rent instalments on the remaining share.
You can increase your ownership to 100% as time goes on by buying shares.

Help to Buy
The current Help to Buy scheme is being replaced.
From April 2021, the scheme is changing to be eligible for first-time buyers, and regional price caps introduced. In the North West, the scheme will allow you to spend up to £224,400 on your new home with an equity loan of up to 20% of the sale price.
You will need to fund at least 80% with a mortgage from a bank or building society, and at least a 5% deposit.

Rent to Buy
Rent to Buy is a Government-backed scheme designed to ease the transition from renting to buying.
It allows you to live in a brand-new home at a lower rent for up to five years. The idea is that while you are renting the property, you can set more of your income aside to save for your deposit.
After your fixed tenancy you will have a choice to buy your home. If you decide not to buy the property, you will have to find an alternative residence. Our Rent to Buy homes are available in Cheshire and are coming soon across the North West.
